Headline as Haiku?

Sure. After all, that’s what the
Blog is about. See?

April 17 is International Haiku Poetry Day and we know what you’re thinking: A) Didn’t we just finish putting up the decorations from last Haiku Poetry Day? and B) Isn’t Haiku Poetry redundant?

The answers are, of course A) Yes. Time is fleeting and B) Yes, since the definition of haiku is a 17-syllable poem beginning and ending with lines of five syllables with a seven-syllable line in between them.

Anyhow, they’re darned fun to write, so we challenged our fellow office dwellers to write haikus describing their favorite Broadway shows. A few brave souls submitted poems. We thank you. As for the rest of you, don’t say we never give you a chance to express yourself. Special thanks to those who wrote about shows coming to Straz in our upcoming Broadway season.
