It’s the most wonderful time of the year, or so the song says, and it’s certainly the busiest. Shopping, cooking, corralling and entertaining your out-of-school children – the festive season takes a lot of work.
So we’re adding just one more chore to your to-do list, only because it can be done with a minimum of time and effort and is absolutely essential for us: Make a donation to Straz Center before the end of the year.
There are excellent reasons to do this that will benefit givers as well as Straz, according to Laina Coburn, Straz’s director of annual giving.
By donating, you’ll be celebrating our successes over the past year, and helping ensure that the coming year is just as or more successful. You’ll know that your gift will support “our artists and teachers, outreach programs serving children and adults, and our ability to offer accessible, transformative arts experiences for all who call Tampa Bay home,” said Laina.
Your year-end donation of $100 or more earns you benefits, such as early access to tickets before they go on sale to the public. It’s also an opportunity to take advantage of potential tax benefits for charitable giving. Significant tax law changes are scheduled for 2026, so this is also an excellent time to consider planned giving options.
As a nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to keep our stages filled with a wide range of performing arts, from blockbuster Broadway hits to challenging and innovative new works, ballet, opera and more.
Your support enables Straz to “continue sharing the power of the performing arts on our stages, in our classrooms and throughout our community,” said Laina.
