Straz @ Home – Our Seventh Stage

Seven Wonders of the World
Seven Dwarfs
Seven Deadly Sins
Seven Continents
Seven Days of Creation
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Seven Seas
Seven Days a Week
Seven Sisters
Seven Swans a Swimming
Seven Hills of Rome
Seven Words You Can’t Say on Television
Seven Colors of the Rainbow

All sorts of things come in sevens – the good, the bad and the dwarfs.

At The Straz, we’ve added us to the list … our Seventh Stage.

Straz @ Home is our new virtual venue that allows our dedicated performing arts fans to access original and repurposed content from our vault. Connoisseurs can treat themselves to a magical moment from one of our past Opera Tampa productions, watch digital presentations of our plays, and much more – all just a click away on their television, computer, tablet or mobile phone.

“Straz @ Home is a natural extension of the great work that we do on our other six stages,” says LeeAnn Douglas, senior director of digital marketing at The Straz. “Since our in-person experiences are limited right now, this is a great way to share the arts with the Tampa Bay community and beyond.”

COMING SOON TO STRAZ @ HOME:

Jobsite Theater’s Hand To God
Opera Tampa’s Gilbert vs. Sullivan
TTRL Storytellers: Jinx & Shelby Sol
Opera Tampa’s Valentine’s Engagement

During the pandemic, The Straz team has been busy keeping the arts alive in new and vibrant ways. We’ve launched TTRL (Tampa Total Request Live), offering chats with local musicians, created digital versions of Arts Legacy REMIX showcasing our seasonal celebration of diverse cultures and offered up virtual arts education curriculum – much of which is now available for FREE at Straz @ Home.

We also are offering, at reasonable prices, premium content such as limited run rentals of Jobsite Theater productions. The Wall Street Journal said The Straz @ Home version of company’s production of Doubt, which was available last month, “conveys the intimacy of a theatrical staging so precisely and evocatively that it loses nothing in the translation to streaming video” and hailed it as “a memorably fine piece of work.” Other Jobsite shows and performances from around the Straz Center will be offered online if you miss them in person.

Sign up for a Straz @ Home account to get alerts when new content is added. For more information, check out Straz @ Home. And contact strazathome@strazcenter.org with any questions.

To reiterate … all sorts of things come in sevens – the good, the bad and now the best — the Seven Stages at The Straz!
